Bandsman's Shandy

A type of cocktail drunk as a test of courage by members of a brass band. It is made typically by taking one shot of every spirit available behind the bar into a pint glass, and then topping it up with a mixture of lager and cider ('snakebite').

Occasionally, it is used to fill trophy cups after a major contest victory.

'So what were you drinking last night to be so hungover?'

'I had a Bandsman's Shandy.'

'Epic.'

Someone who claims to be in the marines but they really just play the traingle.

Usually named Paul or gary.

Look at gary pretending to be a marine but really he's a bandsman.
