Balka
Slang originating in northern New York describing a person, place or thing in a positive light. Also used in military jargon in place of common responses such as "roger" or "tracking".

The male population of this region know everything. All you have to do is ask. They will tell you about themselves, their neighbors, Europeans, the Chinese, politics, religion, engineering, space flight, you name it, they know it. They are always right, period, end of story! A girl who does ballet and only talks about ballet. Her schedule is filled with dance classes which does not allow her to do any other activity.
trucker's tan
A sunburn or suntan focused on the left arm. It is caused by the left side of the body being the only half that gets exposed to sunlight while driving. Presumably, it would be located on the right side of the body in countries where they drive on the left side of the road.
