However can be used as just a figure of speech, no actual beating involved.

Joey Batey is an 82 year old actor/singer. He was born January 1 1938 somewhere in the UK. At the moment, he has given up on love after 3 failed marriages and losing both his children in the custody battle in 1962. He has 5 grandchildren and as far as we know, he has met none of them due to his children being terrified of his baking skills, or lack thereof.
