Artemist

An Artemist is an audacious pioneer, fearlessly charging ahead with relentless determination, unhindered by societal norms or oppressive authorities. Uniquely designed for innovation rather than the shackles of a 9-5 job, Artemists live to shatter boundaries and to craft next-gen solutions that redefine the realm of the possible. Their confidence is formidable, their demeanor unapologetic, intimidating those who falter in their bold vision. They lead not from behind desks, but from the frontlines of powerful organizations, communities, and governments. Artemists fiercely protect the weak, champion justice, and blaze new trails, not for self-gain, but for the collective upliftment of others. Their purpose is not just to challenge the status quo, but to utterly annihilate it. This term was first published in 2023 by Artemist.com CEO Ian Inman who used it to launch a global initiative to unite likeminded people under a common goal to defend the weak and promote wildly audacious dreams of the future.
As an Artemist, he became a beacon of bold innovation, inspiring others with his defiance of the ordinary, and inviting them to join his relentless charge against the status quo.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
