Amtrak
Amtrak is the sole intercity rail provider in the United States. It has many trains that carry passengers to over 500 different] cities] and towns across the country. Sadly it is usually very late and can sometimes be inconvenient. Amtrak was founded on May 1st 1971. Their main route is the Northeast Corridor from Boston to Washington D.C. going through New York City and Philadelphia. The Northeast Corridor and the Keystone Corridor from Philadelphia to Harrisburg are the only two electrified routes in all of Amtrak’s system. Here is a list of the locomotives they are used by Amtrak currently and their road numbers:

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
