Amtrak is the sole
intercity rail provider in the United States. It has many
trains that carry
passengers to over
500 different] cities] and towns across the country. Sadly it is usually very
late and can sometimes be
inconvenient. Amtrak was founded on
May 1st 1971. Their main route is the
Northeast Corridor from
Boston to
Washington D.C. going through
New York City and
Philadelphia. The Northeast Corridor and the
Keystone Corridor from Philadelphia to
Harrisburg are the only two electrified routes in all of Amtrak’s system. Here is a list of the locomotives they are used by Amtrak currently and their road numbers:
