Alté

Means 'alternative', often misunderstood for a habit, it is a lifestyle; a group of Nigerian youth with a unique sense of fashion and music. Alté fashion embraces a retro and vintage style, but is some how tagged as "new school". Alté music on the other hand is not mainstream, it is a melodic, whimsy, almost-spiritual groove. The melody and harmony somehow layer over each other, making it a seamless experience in the ear.

I hung out with Ryan last night, he's very much enveloped in this alté music now.

A pain or nostalgic feeling for a life you never had or a place you never visited, real or imaginary.

Most commonly experienced when looking at scenery from a picture, a painting or a movie, but also when reading or thinking about a fictional place.

Pronounced like nostalgia

The setting of the movie 'Blade Runner' gives me alteralgia.

Thinking about the Shire from 'Lord of the Rings' makes me alteralgic.

I've never been to Japan, but the idea of being there is making me alteralgic.

Alter Bridge

Probably the best hard rock band out there today. Incredibly underrated.
Their first album was great, and every one since has been both fantastic and a great improvement since the last.

Members: Myles Kennedy - Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Mark Tremonti - Lead Guitar, Scott Phillips - Drums/Percussion, Brian Marshall - Bass.

Their first album titled 'One Day Remains' had some good tracks on it, but their second album 'Blackbird' built on this and was better in almost every way. ABIII (their third album) was to Blackbird what Blackbird was to One Day Remains. Just incredible.
