the personality one takes on when secluding themselves from normal humanistic behavior. this can mean they are purposely (for means which to them seem for survival) trying to rebel against human instinct to prevent falling prey to worldly/social influence and to maintain some sort of balance in their mind between insanity and sane, enough to fuction normally while being the recluse that is their current being.
Her mind state was that of amandarae.

Their brain became confused and eventually the amandarae sunk in for a long stay.

amandarae is that place is your head you can run to for safety, or run from out of fear.
