A high school dance which tends to be postponed every year due to snow storms.

Student 1: Man, I'm so excited for the dance this weekend!
Student 2: Don't get too excited. This is winter ball, I doubt it'll actually be this weekend.

Winter Ball Effect 

1. The misleading effect that occurs during any winter time school dance where each person is at his/her best which increases the chance of impulsive relationships to be formed. (only aplicable if both people had a good time)

It didnt work out because both of them failed to take the Winter Ball Effect into accout which had changed the impressions they had previously had about each other.

Winter Balls 

When your balls are cold and tighten up. Can be any time of year, but usually during the winter. This is as opposed to warmer environments, when your balls are big, loose, and swinging.

Jake: "Bro, it's cold as hell out here!"
