warszawa

the capital of Poland. About 2 million of citizens. 80% of buildings were destroyed in Warsaw Uprising in 44' and after that blown up by Germans. After WW2 restored. Situation in the 40s and 50s was really hard in Poland, Warsaw was rebuilt without any help from the outside, mostly by citizens. The most significant point in Warsaw is The Palace Of Culture and Science, the gift from USSR, built in 50s by Russians. its very similar to Moscow palaces - a huge socrealistic piece of beton. Because of the destruction during the WW2 there are plenty of free space even in the centre of city - there are many parks located.
