Short for Vox Populi, the Latin term for "voice of the people" often used to describe an interview with a person who is not an expert, and who is not directly involved with the issue at hand. Also called a "Man on the street" interview.
Guy1: Did you see that Vox pop interview on the news last night?
Guy2: Yeah, that dude was an asshole, he can choke on his own vomit for all I care.

b) (adj, preceded by in,) written, spoken or explained in a non-scientific, non convoluted terms that are comprehensible even to the least educated of people, i.e the masses.

c) The theoretical name of a theoretical newspaper that is supposed to be written by the masses for the masses

vox populi 

Latin for voice of the people like a colloquialism, or current expressions, street lingo, idiomatic expressions and words.

Can be used metaphorically for commonly understood, the popular person or idea, what everyone knows or accepts, the latest trend.
I admire that candidate for his clear vox populi.

You ever find yourself down in that part of the country, they have their own vox populi, know what I mean?

This new drink is the new vox populi on campus.
