Words you can keep
Shortened inoffensive name for a Ukranian, especially one who was recently displaced by Putin and Zelenskyz inability to end their fued. The term Ukie is actually derived from the American version "Okie". Okie was first used during the Great Depression to describe people from Oklahoma , who sought a better life in California, but was later used to brand any migrant from any state who wished to improve their lives. The term "Okie" was offensive as it implied that American migrants were lazy, inbred, country bumpkins who just wanted to ruin California .That was not true, they simply wanted a better life for themselves and their families. They were mostly hard working, decent, honest folks who were the victims of a man made economical disaster. The depression was not only orchestrated to displace and destroy families but to take their land and make them entirely dependent upon the Government.
Hey Ukie, where are you from?

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.
