Smart car v. F-350 crew cab pickup. Pickup driver is shook up and possibly bruised from the airbag, they can walk away. Smart car driver is in the ambulance on the way to the hospital with multiple fractures and or internal injuries. Moral of the story, violating the tonnage law will end up in pain & suffering. British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
