Version of the "Birds and the Bees" sex talk that parents give children. Previously taboo, more and more parents feel the need to educate their children on not just when a man loves a woman, but when a man loves a man, and a woman loves a woman.
The Bees and the Bees would be two men, because of the stingers typifying a penis. Also, a bird is a slang term in 60's Britain for a woman, so the Birds and the Birds would most likely be the lesbians.

Get the the birds and the bees mug.According to tradition, the birds and the bees is a metaphorical story sometimes told to children in an attempt to explain the mechanics and consequence of sexual intercourse. According to that story the birds are like men and the bees like women: Birds are free to fly wherever they like, but bees are enslaved to a single queen their entire life and their whole life is dedicated to keeping her alive. Bees pollinate flowers, birds spread the seed, men impregnate eggs, women give birth. Sex is key for survival of both.
