Someone who can't be trusted or, on rare occasions, even be talked to. This can be of a bad history, first impression, or even because of someone's beliefs. The word came from the Taipan, the most deadly snake in the world, with both of them being untrustworthy, unwanted, and unsafe.
John was considered Taipen by his friends because of his history eating the children of meerkats in Africa.

A mode you can find yourself in before age 30 when you are drifting around with a girlfriend or boyfriend and she or he is your primary companion every waking hour of the day. Usually a fun and enjoyable mode; can be destructive if in this mode for too long for no great reason. Most couples enter it when traveling by bus, train, plane together, staying in hotels together, visiting family together, road tripping together (this can overlap with “On the Road Mode”). Usually when you’re doing “autofiction” type activities with a companion, characterized by sharing the experience in a mostly positive manner. Doing drugs not necessary to enter this mode. Usually noticed after reading “Taipei” by Tao Lin.
Kinda went Taipei Mode with my gf last summer. We flew to Ireland and stayed in a hotel. Then we flew back but red-eyed from New York to Florida right away. Her family’s in Florida. Then we went to LA and crashed with our friends for a couple weeks, kinda doing nothing. Then we flew back to New York together and took the train up to visit my parents in Beacon.
It was pretty fun when me and my wife used to go Taipei mode, but you can only really feel that mode before you’re married.

Get the Tripendicular mug.A taihenge (たいへんゲー - taihen, Japanese for rough + game) describes a game that is janky, unpolished, and usually unpopular, that is still beloved by a niche community. A taihenge is not to the extremes of kusoge, but still is not considered a good/great game by most people.
The term was developed in the English-speaking world to combat the overabundant misuse of the word kusoge outside of Japan for any game that is a little rough around the edges, especially when it came to early games in a genre that did not yet have any of the staple features and core gameplay cemented, as well as experimental games and budget indie titles. The word and concept is slowly seeing adoption internationally, including in Japan.

This girl told me she was a connoisseur of kusoge but it turned out nothing she played was all that terrible. I'd classify them as taihenge at worst.
