somebody with tismo can be smart, stupid, or anywhere in between, but they tend to be hyper-fixated on a few topics that they really love, and have a hard time recognizing when their behavior is socially inappropriate without being explicitly told so.
usually people with tismo are capable of managing themselves in public and living a completely normal life, but there's just something a little off with them, and they sometimes will need special accommodations, like having difficulty going to the grocery store, or needing a quiet room to cool off at a party (often retreating to a car if no such room is available). in social scenarios, they will sometimes use the pretense of drug or nicotine addiction to get away from noise.
