phaffing

Activity that looks (to the casual observer) like work (or another task) but is not really all that productive, and in fact may be time wasting.

Is usually used this way: "phaffing around"

Eg "I'm just phaffing around, really."
or
"He looks busy but he's just phaffing around"

Pottering about very happily, occupied with a pointless task. The passing of time where one is delightfully occupied achieving extraordinarily little .

Common behaviour exhibited by people in a shmended state, on day 2 of a bender ..

They said they'll be ten minutes , four hours ago. Obviously, they phaffing around.

Paffing

Sexual Intercourse between two people. Normally when the male is taking the dominant (and therefore energetic) role of thrusting at his colleage/cohort/partner in love.

Sam: What the hell is that!?!?!
Robin: No idea sounds like Mick is trying to break his wall down.
Sam: Ahh, Kung Po Claire is up there, they must be paffing.

The art of plaffing is to pay one's rear in order to show appreciation at the TV.
Groups of around fifty may gather to perform this traditional British act.

Example: "Me, Dave and his Christian hockey team were plaffing at England's win last night till our neighbors thought they were being attacked by a helicopter.
