Penitencia

Penitencia is a mythical floating city in Filipino folklore, characterized by its predominantly Catholic, traditional, and conservative society. The city is known for its jeepneys, Catholic Masses, red wine, and an unusual cultural aversion to all non-human animals except dogs, which are regarded as an important food source. Its culture also includes a notable game development industry and a peculiar fascination with Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Squidward. At the center of Penitencian society is Killua, a husky regarded as the city’s central cultural figure. Together, these traditions and institutions define Penitencia as a secluded, eccentric, and deeply distinctive floating city.
