Pageland, SC

A small town, just south of Charlotte, NC, across the state line. Its known for being the Watermelon capitol of the World and has an annual Watermelon Festival, in whick rednecks from everywhere show up for. Not much to do in this town except watch paint dry, drink and get bitten by mosquitos. There are a handful of resturaunts and gas stations and a couple of grocery stores. Walmart and Conbraco are the only real places to work. Be careful on the bypass, coming into town...you'll get a ticket for speeding. Pageland is not too bad. It could be worse...it could be Cheraw
Where are you going tomorrow?

Pageland, SC. My granny lives there.

Could be worse. Could be going to Cheraw

paperlanche

I got buried in a paperlanche when I tried to get the Sunday paper from the bottom of the pile.

pateando al muerto

Kicking a dead body in Spanish.

It means that it's still trying to get a reaction to something, but it will be useless.
Y tu amigo sigue esperando volver con ella?
Si, pero ya ves, sigue pateando al muerto.

And, is your friend still hoping to get back with her?
Yes, but you see, he's kicking the dead body.
