Da longing-for-da-past feeling dat Basil Fawlty experiences when driving his modern vehicle dat has a more-reliable ignition system, and so it keeps running instead of randomly conking out the way his infamous little red car used to.

Judging from da "John Cleese and the Specsavers Fawlty car" ad (look it up on YouTube), there's actually no need for Sybil's cantankerous husband to feel any "nostallgia", since without his glasses, he evidently inserts da wrong key --- i.e., one without da necessary interface-electronics chip --- and so da car is behaving just as "cantankerously" as he himself does!
