Mourn Hub
Mourn Hub was the genius appellation given by somebody (it would be interesting to know who originated it) to describe the news channels during the 10 day marathon mournfest concerning Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022 in the United Kingdom. Mourn Hub was chiefly describing the BBC, whose coverage of everything to do with the death and funeral was ridiculous in terms of total time and the relentless positivity towards the monarchy which many saw as quasi-North Korean.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
