A small village in the heart of Leicestershire, UK, situated between the city of Leicester (to the south) and the town of Loughborough (to the north).
Mountsorrel, often referred to as Sorrel (slang), boasts the largest Granite quarry in Europe, and once housed a Norman castle built in 1080 by Hugh Lupus.
Other notable monuments include the Butter Market (1793), War Memorial on Castle Hill, The Ole Well
on The Green (you know, next to the bus stop), and Bargain Booze (Formerly J's and Londis).
The village is home to the Famous "Sorrel Wot" gang.
The village has also been known as "Costa-del-Sorrel" due to large influx of tourists from neighbouring villages, as this was considered the village to party in!
