"Take a Midol" is a disparaging phrase said to a woman who is behaving in a bitchy and confrontational fashion, as women are know to do when experiencing the symptoms of PMS. Sometimes said by a male, the phrase is more powerful when uttered by a female toward another female, as a strong complaint about the woman's behavior and/or attitude. (Midol is a commonly used over-the-counter medication marketed to women for the symptoms of PMS.)

Woman to woman: What is wrong with you? Stop being so upset and take a Midol!

Man to woman: Honey, please! Take a Midol before we have another domestic violence event in this house trailer!

Pop a Midol and relax

A term used in response to a person that is overly hysterical and emotional, often about something very minor or pointless. It is meant to imply the person is emotionally unstable.

Midol is an analgesic typically used for menstrual cramping. While the medicines within can be used for other pains, Midol is typically marketed for such, so the fact that someone would imply one needs a Midol is that one is acting overly emotional like they are a hysterical woman in too much pain from cramps that they cannot think straight. Despite its gendered origins, it's often said to men, with the added implication that the man is completely unable to think rationally.

Bob: Did you hear what Trump did today? He called a female reporter a dumbass?
