1. A total mess disguised as a deep mystification. Used when someone screws up completely but pretends it was all a part of a master plan.
2. A deep mystification disguised as a total mess. Used when someone pulls off an incredibly smart, high-level prank or plot that looks like chaotic madness from the outside.

1. The director's new movie had so many plot holes, but critics are looking for hidden philosophical meanings. It's not deep, it's just pure messtification.
2. Grandpa pretended he forgot our names just to watch us panic and then laughed his head off. Total messtification.

During a act of cooperation, negotiation or decision making all parties withhold knowledge or information that either prolongs the process or completely destroys any chance of reaching the best possible result for all parties.

In order to "one up" the other both the sales and design teams created mutual mystification byfailing to disclose important exceptions and outlyers in their data that had the ability to compromise any final decision thusly
