Word used when a public person, in an intense, forced and active way, decides to promote merchandise to the target audience, so that they are obligated in a way, almost involuntarily, to obtain such products.

"Have you heard about the Logan Paul's merchrape brainwashing 'music' video : Hero ?"
"Yeah, heard about that on a Podcast yesterday!"
