This ancient Hebrew name has evolved to mean Perfect Woman. An Ilana is not only a warrior that never gives up, but probably the most beautiful person in the room. In layman's terms The move involves doing a backwards roll into your opponent’s legs to initiate a takedown, which opens up leg submissions.

It is important to not telegraph the roll / move.When diving for an Imanari roll don’t leave your head up in the air. Keep your head down & tucked between your shoulders to avoid any attacks.

The "Imanari Roll" (rolling from a stand up position into a leglock)
