The direct opposite of expanding. To move inward, contract, or decrease in physical size, volume, or emotional capacity. A structured way of shrinking instead of blowing up.

My high-tech remote control bed can expand into a king size, or it can start impanding down into a tiny twin bed to save space in my room.
