Hoverfly

If you're a hoverfly, you're effectively in the friend zone and you're just hovering around a girl you can never have. You're a sideman when this happens and no one rates you.
Think about it - what do hover flies do? Nothing.

Sideman - "I bought Jayqueesha some shoes yesterday - she said she loved me as a brother!"

John - "Look at you - you dirty hoverfly you're a top sideman and your shape-up looks like a key-hole"
