Something that shouldn't be on the Enterprise-D. I mean, they're in SPACE! The Enterprise-D is the flagship of Starfleet, so why do they need to imagine they're in 20th century San Francisco when they can be screwing green women?

The effect is to both embarrass and paralyze the person being holodecked. Crew members of StarTrek probably do this to new crew members. They trick the noob into thinking that the holodeck is actually a bathroom, waiting for the newbie to get settled into a grump, then shutting off the program and opening the door for everyone to laugh at.

As many will know, the Holodeck was first seen on Star Trek and simulate a completely immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience. When you can literally enter a space that simulates everything that the real world offers except it can be programmed to personal preferences like: A Sherlock Holmes mystery; a trip to the beach; or anything the heart or mind desires.
I think that Bob has a real problem, all he does is pay his power bill and won't leave his Holodeck. I think he is an Holodeckaholic!
