A term arising from the 1950s denoting a high fidelity audio system. The term fell out of use after the advent of stereo, but is used today to denote a class of audio equipment above the mass market which reproduces audio faithful to the recording. The term is best used to differentiate real audiophile audio equipment from the myriad of clock radios, cheap home theater in boxes, and offcourse systems designed for listening to music of the urban persuasion.
Low priced high fidelity system: Energy speakers,Yamaha or Pioneer electronics.

Mid priced high fidelity system: Magnepan Speakers, Nad electronics.

High priced high fidelity system: JmLab Utopia series loudspeakers with Krell electronics.

vodka and orange carbonated drink.

much like a screwdriver, except with orange soda pop instead of orange juice, enducing a mad drunken sugar high when mixed with the right soda.
1:"Dude, we were bouncing off the walls at the rave from all the Hi-Fi's we drank last night."
2:"Who the fuck goes to raves?"

The way in which one person would greet another person named "Fi".

Also (erroneously) short for "high fidelity" - used to describe recorded sound that sounds faithfully like the original production of the sound. It's a term that originated in the 1950's (before stereos) to describe sound-recording equipment that provided faithful reproductions, but nowadays is used mostly by audiophiles.
Fi: Hey there buddy!
You: Hi-Fi!

Pedophile: Come over here kiddie, these Bose speakers produce such high-fidelity sound!
Audiophile: No they don't.

hi-fi(nance)

A tongue-in-cheek term dat ruefully refers to how costly a decent stereo system often can be.
Unless you happen to find a "gem" of a tower-system at a yard sale or thrift store, obtaining an above-average component-audio setup is usually a "hi-fi(nance)" undertaking!

Hoosier Hi-Five

A Hoosier Hi-Five (also High-Five) is a beer and shot combination from two Indiana heritage brands. The whiskey is Old Hamer Straight Bourbon and the beer is Upland Champagne Velvet. Old Hamer was prominent from 1825 to 1870 from Spring Mill in Lawrence County, IN and was sold as far south as New Orleans. The brand was resurrected by West Fork Whiskey Co. (Indianapolis, IN.) in 2019.

Champagne Velvet was brewed by Terre Haute Brewing Co. founded in 1855 and grew to be one of the largest breweries in Indiana. In 1902, Terre Haute brewmaster Walter Braun created a lager called Champagne Velvet (CV) that quickly became the flagship beer of the company. While the beer helped the brewery spread its market and fame during the next two decades, Prohibition forced the brewery to close and its assets were sold. In 2012 Upland Brewing Co. (Bloomington, IN) purchased the rights to the name and recipe and released the beer for their 15th Anniversary.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.

A slang term used to describe a bald person, typically someone who is completely bald or has a closely shaved head. The term is derived from the infamous, hairless kids’ cartoon character of the same name.
Example 1:
“Did you see that caillou over there? His head is reflecting the sun like a disco ball.”
Example 2:
“I think Dave is finally accepting his hair loss. He just went full caillou and shaved the whole thing off.”
