Gee Whiz

A word once used by youth as a substitute for cursing, but that has now been so associated with the elderly it’s become an ageist slur. It was confirmed at a slur after the “gee whiz” attacks of 2006, where four elderly citizens in New Jersey were roundhouse kicked into critical conditions while the word gee whiz was brutally yelled at them. The same year, the so-called “gee whiz hitmen” broke into a nursing home in Idaho, vandalising the building with the word gee whiz in red blood-like spray paint, and subsequently attempting to throw an elderly man Geoffrey Wilson out of a third story window. The man’s wheelchair proved difficult to fit through the window pane, so the attempt was unsuccessful, and the rioters were arrested. Gee Whiz is now a deeply offensive word, and one that should scarcely be uttered again, unless the elderly wish to reclaim it.
2006 Lilac Flowers Retirement Home attacker: “Geoffrey was nothing but a filthy old Gee Whiz, and one we we felt must be disposed of”

Wilson’s granddaughter: “I will never, ever utter the GW words in my life, they have caused harm to our poor elderly, and I will continue to fight against this all-too-common term”

Gee Whiz Project

A "Gee Whiz Project" is a project or design specification that is either overly complicated, requires a vast amount of resources to complete with little to no impact, or is totally and completely unnecessary or impossible.
Corporate assigned me a "Gee Whiz Project" today. I need to design and write a program to scour several thousand data sources with pinpoint accuracy and with a zero percent error rate with all results being returned in under 10 seconds. The artificial intelligence interface will then be required to ask the user how they are feeling about the search, and if necessary order the appropriate coffee or medication to make the user "feel better".
Fogey/fogy /fougi/ sl. (early 18C+, orig. Scot) old-fashioned, stuck-in-the mud.
Person with old fashioned ideas which he is unwilling to change: Come to the disco and stop being such an old fogey!
You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
