Ganglighting
A form of mass gaslighting where multiple individuals coordinate to systematically undermine a target’s perception of reality. Ganglighting combines the techniques of gaslighting (denying events, twisting facts, insisting the target is “crazy”) with the power of numbers. When dozens of people insist that the target is misremembering, overreacting, or imagining abuse, the target begins to doubt their own sanity—even when they have evidence. Ganglighting is common in organized harassment campaigns, where participants reinforce each other’s versions of events, creating a consensus reality that excludes the target’s experience.
Example: “She had screenshots of the abuse, but twenty people in the server kept telling her she was ‘paranoid’ and ‘seeing things.’ Ganglighting: using numbers to overwrite reality.”
