Furlough'd

When you're basically fucked but with a paycheque each month.
Sits in apartment with everything at your finger tips but everything out of your reach. "I am so furlough'd. Goddamn."
Words you can keep

Furloughism

Movement or belief that supports the upcoming furlough and embraces all that it has to offer. Some of its wonderful offerings consist of but are not limited to, lots of time off if you are a federal employee and the joy of watching those people panic who thought life was a joke and spent every cent they made instead of saving some.
Person A – Boy this furlough is great. I am going golfing tomorrow, gonna day drink tomorrow and get sloppy drunk, and then be hungover the following day and do nothing except eat and scratch my balls.

Person B – Yeah, this is the life bro. And how about those scumbag losers who are at the food kitchen. Hahaha. I bet they are happy they got the iPhone4, those 300 dollar shoes, and that new Mercedes! God bless furloughism!

furlough time

Time spent at work doing absolutely nothing work related, to make up for the furlough day the company gave you to save money due to poor financial management.
Bob: Jim, you've been goofing off all day, what gives?"

Jim: "I'm taking my furlough time. I've got four more hours to spend tomorrow."

furloughcation

A vacation that is taken during unpaid furlough days, which you are forced to take because of the crappy economy. Pluses: time off! Minuses: pay cut. But hey, you still have a job.
"So what are you doing on your furloughcation days?" "Oh, I thought I'd work on my guitar solos and maybe play some video games. Woo, furloughcation."

furlough envy

With the downturn in the economy some companies are instituting a work furlough. Unpaid time off, with a guarantee to return to work. Most furloughs are 1-5 days off a month. Furlough envy is when someone is jealous of someone else's unpaid time off.
Dude, did you hear Jack's company is doing a 10 percent work furlough? Damn, that's fucking sweet. I've got a bitchin' case of furlough envy.

furlough tourettes

The act of uncontrollably erupting into a profanity laced hate-bomb directed at Governor Schwarzenegger each and every time the word “furlough” is heard, (most commonly diagnosed in California state workers).
"Furlough, f@cking bullsh&t, c*cksucker. I'd like to furlough that motherf#cker right in his five foot nothing ass!" said Bill.

Sadly, this is yet another sad case of furlough tourettes.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
