The best friend of a mother who just had her baby. The baby calls the moms best friend "Auntie" even though there is no blood relation. You become a Fauntie.

Frauntie

A Frauntie is a friend that’s like an Aunt.

I am not a huge fan of when people say they are Aunt Whatever when they are actually a friend maybe not even good friend. And also because you aren’t an Aunt, you’re a family friend but shoot you aren't sending money on birthdays or doing Aunt duties. You love your friend so of course you love their kid. I mean if you’re a good friend that is.

Also it’s hard at introductions if you feel similar to an aunt but aren’t one... what to say...? Maybe Fruncle for the male friend.

I’m happy when I can be there for my friends daughter and love watching her grown.
