2. Etymology: from 'flood' (natural disaster) and letter 'X' (fish). Metaphorically speaking, a fish than can't only swim, but survive in extreme environments and conditions.

Friday Flood 

Due to most Americans lackadaisical attitude to work on Fridays, the Friday Flood represents the influx of personal email being sent during that time in place of actual work. These emails are typically in the form of chain letters sent to a wide group of people (hence the flood) that contain nonsensical attachments, inside jokes, random pop culture references etc.

One of the more recent Friday Flood phenomena has been the flyers priceless chain.
