Activism that requires little to no effort on the part of the protestor, i.e. online petitions and chain emails/status updates.

Bob just sent me a link to an online petition for that SOPA bill. What a bunch of fauxtivism.

Faptivism

When an activist (namely Jason Russell) faps in public, thus discrediting anything this "faptivist" ever stood for and bringing about the demise of his campaign.

Kony2012 supporter: I really identify with Jason Russell's cause to catch Kony by the end of 2012!

Learned individual: You must be feelin' salty to support faptivism

Fauxtivist

A social "movement" brought to attention through internet memes and word of mouth that has almost no validity in the real world and will become passe in a matter of months.

Common sense person: "let's go occupy the apple store, they are a money grubbing corporation, right?"
Hipster douchebag: "Occupy apple? I need my iphone to pass along all the latest fads. Besides occupy is so 2011, it's all about Kony 2012!"
Common sense person: "you're just buying into the latest fad. You're such a hipster fauxtivist"

faptivism

First pioneered by Jason Russell in March 2012 faptivism is the practice of vigorous fapping as a means of achieving political or other goals often through public demonstrations, fap mobs etc.

"did you hear that the kony 2012 guy suffered a mental breakdown?"

"nah, he had just resorted to faptivism, he was the first ever faptivist, a real hero."

Fauxicism

A false toughness defined by machismo and self-imposed isolation. The fauxic lives a life of constant, perceived persecution or threat without a fully formed sense of self. Fauxicism is marked by a projected carapace of imperturbability and lonely burden-carrying, though this may dissolve into snowflakery when the fauxic's sense of honor or respect is impinged.

Drinking yourself into an early grave to avoid talking to someone isn’t tough or edgy, it’s fauxicism.

There is upper-case Stoicism, lower-case stoicism, and then there is Fauxicism, the lowest-case stoicism.

Fauxtivist

A person advocating a cause over the internet but not making any real effort for the cause in other aspects.

Dude this guy has been spamming my wall with Kony all weekend, what a fauxtivist.
