1. To practice mindfulness, meditation, or deep spiritual contemplation while sitting directly beneath the canopy of a tree.
2. To rise out of a state of mental chaos, stress, or obscurity into clear, calm awareness through tree-based reflection.

Etymology: A 21st-century blend (portmanteau) of the English words emerge (to rise up from an obscure or confined condition; to come into view) + meditate (to engage in mental exercise for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness).

emergadate 

The person you know you can go to when you need a last minute date for an event and every other person you'd prefer to go with can't make it. Characteristics inculde: always free on very short notice and fun to be with but of no romantic interest.
"I bought non-refundable tickets to the comedy club to surprise Monique but she had to go out of town; I called my emergadate the night before and now I'm going with Beth. Whew!"

Mergitate 

A more complex form of marinating, established in the Okanagan, BC, Canada. With meat such as chicken you would “marinate”. With vegetables such as cucumber, you leave it to MERGITATE. This way the flavours will “merge” and “mergitate” to give you the best flavour possible. An expert form of food preparation, known by few.
I left the cucumber, dill, onion and sour cream in the fridge to mergitate overnight. The results we fantastic!
