An Elina is a strong, independent girl with strong feelings. She’s a kind girl and one of the most fragile people you will ever meet. She wears her emotions on her sleeve and is always ready to step in when needed. If you ever come across an Elina love her, don’t loose her. Elina’s typically are good friends and have a whole lot of them too. Guys always fall for Elinas and try so hard to be with her. She attracts everyone around her. Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
