dogmosis

The process by which a dog expands to fill the available space on e.g. a sofa
A space is available next to you on the sofa. Your dog, albeit half the size of the space and initially tucked into one corner, mysteriously stretches out and eventually fills the space. Your dog has filled the space by dogmosis.
