naughts and crosses

A repetitive, addictive, yet oddly pleasurable game for two.
A grid of nine boxes is drawn. The players pick their symbol (a naught or a cross), then take turns to fill a box with their individual symbol. The winner is the first to complete a line of three symbols - diagonally, horizontally, or vertically. The loser will then immediatly demand a rematch.
This game is often played on the back rows of classrooms and lecture threatres in schools and Universities across the world.
"Please play naughts and crosses with me before I bite my own tongue off in boredom."

Knots and Crosses

While playing pictionary one night, this is how my british friend Asela refers to the game tic-tac-toe as it is drawn for him. Being the naive Americans we are, we laugh at him and give him hell.

throwing crosses

Setting somebody up for something a group of friends might be doing illegally, of course. Double crossing or triple crossing. A real snake move. Will likely get you killed in most cases.
Hey D, where Mike at? Man Mike gone he got caught throwing crosses by being with them other dudes on the South side.
