A combination of control and manipulation. Means "causing someone to believe something that is false, or convincing them that an event occurred when it did not"

Hypnosis experts use contripulation to convince their clients that they are being hypnotized.

confabulation

A word denoted to the gaps in our memory that we fill in with a plausable but yet imagined memory.
And no, it's different to a hallucination, as a confabulation can only be retrospective (hallucinations are happening at the time)

"No, that didn't really happen, George. What you have just experienced was a confabulation."

a reaction to memory loss where one fills in gaps of forgotten time with "inappropriate words"

similar to contribution, but larger. leaving a larger effect in its wake.

when youre in a ceremony and the speaker says "thank you for your contributation!" you would answer, "it was hard work, but we contributated a lot."
