A
Malayalam slang for calling another male person,
usually older than you but not old enough to call them 'uncle'.
Orginal word - Chette / Jeshta meaning
the word is an 'Elder Brother'.
So, if you see a guy in Kerala who is older than you, but not old enough to call “Uncle”, call him “Cheta”!
On
second thoughts,
you know what? Even if they're old enough to be
your grandfather, just call Cheta. Why offend them by calling Uncle!
