Barmp

"Barmp" is a a Newfoundland term which is synonymous with "(to) honk your horn" and any other such variations of the word. Often times, however, the word is associated with being angry, so you may only "barmp your horn," if you were experiencing a bout of road rage.

"Buddy just barmped his horn at you!"

"Why do you keep barmping your horn?"

A foolish, silly, deranged or stupid person

Police sergeant- What does he look like?
Rose- He looks distinguished

Onslow -He looks like a barmpot.
Police sergeant- Can you narrow that down a bit? Does he have any distinguishing features?
Onslow -He was carrying a bucket and spade. Daisy- He was going to the seaside.
Police sergeant- With his bucket and spade....

Add a "Tish" (as in BwaaaAAARRRRP TISH) for a turbo car fitted with a dump valve.

The luncheon of cucumber sandwiches, jellies and champagne was proceeding smoothly when above the ambient chatter could be heard what sounded an abrasive trumpet blast as Mr Glab had lifted his leg and cranked out a garrulous ‘bwampf’.
