A boy queen… as opposed to a femmequeen (trans woman) in ballroom terms.

Butchqueen = boy queen, Femmequeen= girl queen

By ballroom’s definition, which is where the word comes from… it does not matter if said Butchqueen is femme or masc in mannerisms or style. It only matters if he is gay and lives as a boy/man.

Miss thing it was Vogue femme for $500 Butchqueen vs Femmequeen… 2 trophies but only 1 grand prize winner who gets the cash. Deja LaPerla slayed them hoes and sent all the Butchqueens packing child.

A gay male that is neither extremely feminine, nor extrememly masculine and can easily portray both mannerisms.

Butch Queen First Time At A Ball 

A phrase that was originally noted by the LEGENDARY Paris Dupree in the multiple award winning documentary entitled "Paris is Burning,"as a category for masculine looking drag queens who have never been to a ball and therefore arrive looking BUTCH.

The phrase has become popular recently and is used to describe females and males alike who try to dress fem, but who's masculine traits always shine through.

NeNe Leaks showed up at Award Show looking like a "Butch Queen First Time at a Ball."
