One of the many bosses in the 2015
game Bloodborne. All encounters with this boss are optional for a casual playthrough however, the encounter in the area Old Yharnam is recommended for any playthroughs of the
game as it not only gives an achievement but also opens up the the best farming strategy in the
game and drops an item needed for another two achievements. If going for all achievements in the base
game and DLC you
will encounter this enemy three times, twice as a boss, and once as an enemy. The two boss encounters are found in Old Yharnam (base
game), and layer two of the Ailing Loran Chalice (Chalice Dungeons). The enemy encounter is in the Old Hunters DLC. It is in a cave at the end of the blood river area. Be warned, the Gatling
Gun Hunter (widely thought to be one of Old Hunter Djura's cohorts) guards the entrance to the cave it is in and can be quite the tough fight. Never the less, after beating the Gatling
Gun Hunter you may enter the cave where there
will be a few beast men and some cloaked beast men. At the end of the cave is an enemy version of the Blood Starved Beast guarding the
weapon The Amygdalan Arm. It is recommended you
dodge into its attacks and stay behind it as none of its attacks hit behind itself. It can be distracted by blood cocktails and is weak to fire damage. It is believed by the community of Bloodborne enthusiasts that in humanity this creature practiced bloodletting as its back
skin is flayed in a way similar to the Bloodletting Beast.
New Bloodborne
Player: Hay I heard that the Blood Starved Beast was optional, I was considering skipping it. Should I?
Experienced Bloodborne
Player: Do what you want, but I would recommend taking it down as it lets you go to the Chalice Dungeons. You also need to kill it to get three of the achievements in the
game.
