Birthday Style

When a friend or significant other of yours is out of town during the actual time period of your birthday, but they take you out for something and pay for everything to make up for it

H: Hey babe, I know I was in Spain all summer and your birthday was in June, but can we do something birthday style?
J: Sure. Take me out for coffee.
H: Great! I'll pay for everything because that's how we would have done it if we had gotten to do it on your actual birthday!
