A humorous or exaggerated way to say the span of time or space separating two distinct events. Often used when the gap feels notable, dramatic or oddly specific. Slightly more whimsical than between.

Preposition adverb hybrid, informal.
I’ve only cried twice in my life, once out of anger and once when my dog died. The time betweenst those two crying events was several years, which is why I say I don’t cry often.

The last time I checked my bank account and the next time I dared to look again, the period betweenst was emotionally necessary.

Cheatavious and buddies came home Sunday with a tale between their legs involving sick relatives!

A clever and discreet way of saying your unemployed.you've had a job,not currently working,but will be working in the near future.
"so where do you work at Joe?" "Oh,uh... Im actually between jobs right now,how about you?"
