Bethness 

Also seen on social media as #Bethness. The art of a person disappearing without warning or explanation. Typically a temporary disappearance for a period of up to 8 weeks. Person no longer makes or receives phone calls or text messages and is completely silent or removed from social media.

(Random and unexpected vanishing act by people - usually induced due to extreme stress or the desire to remove oneself from social situations. Originally created from famed radio producer "Random Beth" and now used anytime someone needs a "break" from the real world.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped.
