In the beginning of the show, we see Anne as an orphan in late Canada, however, as the show progresses, she becomes familiar with the world of Avonlea, her new home. She is welcomed into the Cuthbert family by siblings, amarillo and Matthew (despite prior complications).
Anne is a kind hearted, poetic young girl with iconic red hair, usually worn in braids. Despite the hardship thrown at her, she never struggles to find the beauty in the world, explaining in the most fantastical ways e.g. ‘the white way of delight’ or ‘the lake of shining waters’.
