You say this to guys but, you don't actually love/like them.
girl: can someone post mate boba at my house

boy: sure

girl: *ily*
Words you can keep
1. In loving terms, it is an abbreviation for "i love you." Usually used randomly to your boyfriend/girlfriend to make them feel as if you truly do have feelings for them, but you really don't. It is now used to show great or even a little excite.

2. In another term, it means "I'm leaving you." Great for a break up. An excuse in texting that helps break the relationship between two calmly but extremely shocking after a day or two.
1.

Two eighth graders:

Girl: Omg! I forgot to do my history homework!

Boy: I'll make a copy of my homework for you.

Girl: Really? Omg! ily so much <3!

Boy: *sure you do...*

2. Two 11th graders:

Female: I'm bored baby, what are we going to do for our anniversary?

Male: Ugh... I have something to tell you, babe.

Female: What's wrong?

Male: ily

Female: Aww ily 2.

Male: Really?

Female: really!

*tomorrow, female tries to hug and kiss the male, but the male says "Hey, what are you doing? we aren't together anymore."
Female: "What do you mean!?!"
Male: "You forgot about last night? We both agreed that we are leaving each other."*

Female goes into a huge heart attack and ends up in the hospital while the Male is arrested for murder.

A short term for, "I Love You", but they don't mean the same thing. ILY is often used when you're speaking to a friend. If you're actually in love with someone, take your damn time writing out the whole thing.
Friend 1: gah, gotta go.
Friend 2: ILY!
Friend 1: ily2.<33

--------

Boyfriend: I love you.
Girlfriend: ily.
Boyfriend: ..you can't even take the time to write out the extra 5 letters for me? wow, we're through

The word 'ily', is the shortened version of 'I love you', and is often used in texts, instant messengers, and in comment boxes on personal webpages.
Ily is usually read/said as all one word rather than pronounced as single letters such as 'I-L-Y'.
It is usually recieved as an affectionate term used more to describe your admiration for someone, rather than actual love, although can mean different things in different situations.
Boyfriend to Girlfriend: "Don't ever let me lose you, ily"
Friend to friend: "Ily girl!'
Texts: "Meet me by the cinema at 2 o'clock, ily, Fred"
Instant messenger: "Sorry, I g2g now, ily xxx"
Comment boxes: "What a pretty girl, ily!"
